Each person booking on the course will receive an initial call from me so we can discuss the content of the course and the commitment involved. This is a time to talk through any issues you may have that may impact you on the course, on a 1:1 basis.
The course starts with an initial orientation session where you get the chance to meet the other participants, familiarise yourself with the process of meditation, and get your first experience of being in the group. The course itself runs for 8 weeks, where you can learn how to use mindfulness in various situations and how to apply these principles in day to day life.
The online course runs for 8 weeks, on Wednesday evenings 6.00pm - 8.30pm. It is important in considering the online course that participants think about where they will locate themselves for the length of the sessions. Preferably in a quiet place where they will not be disturbed. It may be important to ask for the support of family and friends to respect their wish not to be disturbed during the time of the session and make sure that they have all they require to hand at the start.
An important part of the course is the 'All Day Session' on the Saturday, between weeks 6 and 7. The intensive nature of this all day experience takes place predominantly in silence.
It gives participants the opportunity to 'Dive-In', establishing the use of Mindfulness across multiple situations in life while preparing to use theses methods far beyond the conclusion of the programme. It is also open to people who have completed an 8 week MBSR course previously, as a means of being able to deepen their existing Practice.
The most important aspect of the course is the commitment and contribution of the participants. By signing up to the course you are being invited to commit to developing your own 'formal' and 'informal' practice of Mindfulness which during the course consists of 45 minutes Home Practice for 6 days between weekly sessions.
